Contemplations

I look at my life
and I think of the past
I look at my life
and wonder how long it'll last.

I look ahead at the road
and I see my journey end.
But I hope in my mind,
its just another bend.

I think of the time
when I will have my last breath
And leave this world behind
in the loving embrace of death.

I look at my life
to see what I am leaving
And yet in my heart
I am not grieving.

May be I want
to live a little more
But then I see,
I am already at the shore.

I look back to find
something worth living for
But then I find that
Dying is the day worth living for.
Dying is the day worth living for...
